The home, located at 401 Shipwrighter Way in Towamencin Township was a total loss due to fire and water damage, according to Towamencin Township Fire Marshal Bill Oettinger.

While the fire was determined to be accidental, its origin is still under investigation, Oettinger said.

The fire was initially reported as being in the garage at 5:27 p.m., according to Oettinger. However, the blaze eventually spread into the home itself.

The garage and its contents, including a vehicle, received extensive damage, Oettinger said.

Oettinger confirmed that there were no injuries and that the family was displaced. The family has made temporary living arrangements, according to a North Penn Now report.

The Towamencin Township Fire Department responded to the fire and were assisted by Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, North Penn Volunteer Fire Company, Perseverance Fire Company of Souderton, Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale, Fairmount Fire Police, VMSC EMS, and Towamencin police, the North Penn Now report states.

The North Penn Volunteer Fire Company confirmed its presence on scene, according to a post on its Facebook page. Its crews responded as they were on their way back from a different fire, assisting in fighting the blaze from the rear of the home.
